Frequently asked questions
Can Universe recover my wallet if I lose the phrase?
Section titled “Can Universe recover my wallet if I lose the phrase?”No. Not for anyone, under any circumstances. There is no account, no reset email, and no support override. Anyone offering to do it is arranging a second theft.
Can Universe reverse a transaction?

Does Universe hold my keys?
Section titled “Does Universe hold my keys?”No. They are generated on your device, encrypted with your password, and never leave the extension.
Why is my available balance lower than my total?
Section titled “Why is my available balance lower than my total?”Coins carrying assets, or coins the wallet could not check, are held back from ordinary payments. See Protected outputs.
Why does a screen say the operation is not available?
Section titled “Why does a screen say the operation is not available?”Your build does not carry evidence for that operation. It is not an outage, a permission, or a setting. See Why an action is unavailable.
How many protocols are supported?
Section titled “How many protocols are supported?”The registry holds 42. Universe Wallet 1.7.5.8 authorizes 0 of them. See What this release authorizes.
Can I speed up a stuck transaction?
Section titled “Can I speed up a stuck transaction?”Not from inside Universe Wallet. There is no fee bump, no speed up, and no child-pays-for-parent. You can mark a transaction replaceable when you create it, and the wallet does not give you a way to build the replacement. See Read your activity.
Can I sign a message of my own?
Section titled “Can I sign a message of my own?”No. Message signing appears only as an approval, in response to a request from a connected site. There is no compose-and-sign screen.
Can I connect a Ledger or Trezor?
Section titled “Can I connect a Ledger or Trezor?”No. They appear in the hardware list, disabled, marked coming soon. Keystone is the working integration. See Hardware wallets.
Which version am I running?
Section titled “Which version am I running?”Settings, then About. Read Which version you are running before you compare it to anything on this site, because the published store build predates most of what is documented here.
Does connecting a site let it spend my coins?
Section titled “Does connecting a site let it spend my coins?”No. Connecting lets a site see one address on one network and ask you for signatures. Every signature is approved separately. See Connection permissions.
I cancelled a listing. Is it really cancelled?
Section titled “I cancelled a listing. Is it really cancelled?”Removing a listing removes it from that marketplace. It does not revoke your signature. Anyone holding a copy can still complete it while the coin is unspent. The only certain revocation is to spend the coin yourself. See What a signature authorizes.
Is my activity private?

Why are there no screenshots on this site?
Section titled “Why are there no screenshots on this site?”Because there are no real ones to use. The product’s capture harness currently runs the wallet offline, so every screen it captures settles into an empty or error state. Presenting a mock as a real capture would be a false claim, so this site uses hand-authored diagrams and describes interfaces in words instead. See Diagram conventions.
Will support ever ask for my recovery phrase?
Section titled “Will support ever ask for my recovery phrase?”No. Nobody legitimate ever will, in any wallet, for any reason. See Phishing and impostors.
