StampDEX documentation
StampDEX is the marketplace and explorer at stampdex.fun for two Bitcoin protocols: Bitcoin Stamps, artwork written into Bitcoin transactions, and SRC-20, the token standard built on the same mechanism. You can browse the whole venue without a wallet. Connect one only when you want to trade.
This documentation exists for one reason above the others: a trade on Bitcoin takes time, and during that time your money is somewhere specific. Every page here says where.

Continuous means there is no numbered release to quote. The exact commit serving you is
readable at any moment from
GET /api/version, and that is the version this
documentation asks you to check against. See

Who this is for
Section titled “Who this is for”Traders
You want to know what a listing really is, what it costs, and what happens between signing and settlement. Start with Buy SRC-20 and Where your funds are.
Collectors
You want to identify a stamp beyond its picture and buy it without guessing. Start with Collect Bitcoin Stamps and Asset identity.
Application developers
You want the same data the site reads, with no key and no account. Start with the API quick start.
The one thing to understand first
Section titled “The one thing to understand first”Trades are executed at StampDEX, not inside other Bitcoin Universe products. The
registry that describes the Universe ecosystem records both Stamps and SRC-20 as
mode: external-execution, owned by StampDEX. Other Universe surfaces can show you a
stamp or a token, but the order book, the matching, and the settlement happen here.
While an SRC-20 trade settles, your BTC is not in your wallet and not in the seller’s wallet. It is in escrow addresses created for that one listing, which StampDEX controls. StampDEX states that before you sign. Everything on this site uses the same four colours to say where value sits:
- Buyer side: held by the buyer, or delivered to the buyer
- Seller side: held by the seller, or delivered to the seller
- Held by StampDEX for the length of one trade
- Settled on Bitcoin, final
Read Where your funds are for the diagram that tracks all of it, stage by stage.

Nothing on this site is financial advice. StampDEX shows identity and market facts and builds transactions. What you buy, and at what price, is your decision.
