The trading venue for Bitcoin Stamps and SRC-20. This site documents how a trade is built, where your funds sit at every stage, and what the venue can and cannot do.
StampDEX is the marketplace and explorer at stampdex.fun for two Bitcoin protocols: Bitcoin Stamps, artwork written into Bitcoin transactions, and SRC-20, the token standard built on the same mechanism. You can browse the whole venue without a wallet. Connect one only when you want to trade.
This documentation exists for one reason above the others: a trade on Bitcoin takes time, and during that time your money is somewhere specific. Every page here says where. It also says where each number comes from, which build it was checked against, and what the venue cannot do.

The two protocols

Trades are executed at StampDEX, not inside other Bitcoin Universe products. Other Universe surfaces can show you a stamp or a token, but the order book, the matching, and the settlement happen at StampDEX.
Where your funds are, in one screen

- Seller side: held by the seller, or delivered to the seller
- Held by StampDEX for the length of one trade
- Settled on Bitcoin, final
The listing
Before anyone pays, the seller’s tokens are already in escrow and cannot be spent elsewhere.
You sign
Your BTC goes to the listing’s escrow address. StampDEX controls that address for the length of this one trade.
Settlement confirms
The token transfer is broadcast and waits for two confirmations. Your BTC stays in escrow until it does.
The seller is paid
Escrow releases the BTC to the seller, minus the service fee. Neither side ever held both sides of the trade.

For developers
